About PetRescue

PetRescue is a national animal welfare charity with a vision of a future where every pet is safe, respected and loved.

When it launched in 2004, the PetRescue website was the first of its kind in Australia. Since then, it has been the connection for over 860,000 rescue pets and their new families. 

PetRescue’s adoption platform gives pets the best chance to find a home by bringing thousands of homeless pets face-to-face with tens of thousands of potential adopters every day. The best part is that all PetRescue website services and adoption support programs are free and accessible to all rescue organisation members and pet lovers alike. 

Our adoption programs and services support rescue organisations, shelters, councils, vets, pet guardians and adopters nationwide. 

PetRescue has helped in creating true social change by bringing pet adoption into the mainstream, but we’re really just getting started. 

We’re focused on transforming the animal welfare system by preventing healthy and rehomable pets from entering this system. PetRescue’s programs and initiatives create bypasses and early intervention pathways and directly support the humans and communities who love and care for pets.
