I'm fundraising to...

help homeless pets find their best friend and furever home!

Six and a half years ago, I fell in love with a tiny brindle puppy I found on PetRescue’s website (surprise, it was Arlo!) Her profile had the sweetest photos & information about her personality, and once we organised a meet & greet I immediately knew I had found the dog for me. Luckily, the universe agreed, and I was able to begin my journey with little miss Arlo. Ever since, we have grown an inseparable bond and I could not imagine my life without her. She has now been there to share in all of our big life moments (moving out, getting engaged, building our first home and now getting married!), and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

This September, as a way to say thanks, Arlo & I will be taking part in PetRescue’s ‘Best Friend Walk’ to help fundraise and raise awareness for pets in need!

When it launched in 2004, the PetRescue website was the first of its kind in Australia, and since then, it has been the connection for over 860,000 rescue pets and their new families.

PetRescue’s adoption platform gives pets the best chance to find a home by bringing thousands of homeless pets face-to-face with tens of thousands of potential adopters every day. And the best part is, all PetRescue website services and adoption support programs are free and accessible to all rescue members and pet lovers alike.

The Month is Nearly Over!

Here we are, only a few days out from the end of September. It’s been such a busy month, between our daily walks and raising Odin we have certainly had our hands full! 😅💚 Arlo has absolutely loved these walks and knowing we’ve been able to make a difference for homeless pets is so special 🥰

Birthday Girl!

No walkies for Arlo yesterday (12th Sep) because we celebrated her 7th birthday instead!! 🎉 Arlo got to celebrate with a doggy cake (made with fresh roast chicken, Greek yoghurt, strawberries and blueberries) and lots of cuddles 💗

When we first agreed to take part in this walk, I questioned whether we would be able to raise our target of $250. To officially have raised over $1,000 is mind blowing! We are so lucky to have such supportive people behind us, so thank you to everyone who’s donated 💚 12km down, 38km to go! 🐾

First Walk of the Month!

It’s Best Friends Walk month, finally! 🐾 Arlo and I completed our first walk this morning, 2km down & 48km to go! Arlo decided she would prefer to make it as leisurely as possible with many stops along the way, hopefully tomorrow we’ll pick up our pace a bit more 🤭

Increased Fundraising Goal… Again!

Wow, to say I am blown away is an understatement. I would just like to say a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated so far 🥰 To think we started with a goal of $250 and we have just passed $750 (before the walk even begins!) is just incredible. Because of this, I am increasing our goal one last time to $850. Let the walking begin! 🐾🐾

Update From PetRescue 💚🐾

Hey everyone, only a couple weeks until the real fun begins! We just wanted to share with everyone an update we received from PetRescue about our fundraising so far: “…with your funds raised being at a whopping $522 already, that’s a total of 14 homeless pets who you’ve helped connect with families and a warm new home this winter.” It’s so incredibly lovely to know we’ve already helped so many pets find their potential furever homes, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve from here until the end of September! 🥰

Increased Fundraising Goal

Due to the generosity we’ve already received, we’ve decided to increase our fundraising target to $500 - since we have already reached $300! Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated, we look forward to what happens next! 🥰🐾
